Who Can do What...
If you can't do something, it might be because you don't how, it might be because you're not allowed.
Roles
What you do depends on your Role.:-
- Anonymous
- The general public.
- You will see the site as an Anonymous User unless you have registered and are logged in.
- You can't post anything.
- Authenticated
- Logged in Members
- You can:-
- Comment on posts (where they allow comments)
- Manage your User Profile information.
- Apply to join the Speaker Panel
- View other members User Profiles
- Contact other members (where they have allowed it)
- You can't:-
- Post most types of content (you can't add blog, book pages, or events etc).
- For these you need to ask Admin to help. For the posting of important info (e.g. a forthcoming event, or request for papers) let Admin have the full details, and they will do it, AND usually promote it to the front page.
- Blogs - we are keen to have members blogs, but want them to be focussed, and with a degree of commitment. If you want to run a blog with some type of theme, contact us.
- Edit existing content.
- Use Comment (where enabled) to extend or correct posts, or turn a post into a debate/discussion. If comments are not enabled, or it's an important issue (e.g. an Event where you know the date is wrong), notify us direct.
- Post most types of content (you can't add blog, book pages, or events etc).
- Editors
- Editors get wide powers to create and edit content, and are trusted to use their powers appropriately, for those areas for which they are responsible.
- Editors tend to be senior people within itSMFI or itSMF Chapters, or members with a keen commitment to itSMFI.
- We would like to have one designated Editor for each Chapter. Such Editors need to be nominated by their Chapter Board, but do not need to be Board members.
- The page for each Chapter will say who the Editor for that Chapter is, and if none is listed, assume that we'd like a volunteer!
- If you would like to be an Editor, contact us at chris.roberts@itsmfi.org.
- Admin
- Ability to do anything they like.
- Responsible for the FUNCTION and DESIGN of the site. (Suggestions for either always received with interest).
- Deals with issues of abuse and AUP breaches.
- Printer-friendly version
