In times where the economy and return of investment of organizations are fragile, it is important to clearly understand the real costs of the IT services that are used. This understanding will lead to wiser decisions when performing actions related to IT services in order to reduce enterprise financial risks.

Do you actually know how much costs, for an organization, the email service, the Intranet or even one of the business systems? Would you not want to know the effects on costs resulting from reducing workforce, delays in upgrades or reduction of certain contract coverage?

Making more informed decisions depends on the knowledge of the level of quality delivered as well as the understanding of the service costs and type of costs involved. It is a question of balance. The most important services which contribute to the success of the organization need to be of high quality. This level of quality may suggest higher costs, which is not necessary problematic and investments for improvement may be reasonable. However, if the cost of a nice-to-have service seems too high, the analysis of the cost elements will help make decisions to reduce costs without affecting the goals of an organization.

During the conference, Qualiti7 will introduce basic concepts which will allow you to understand service costs and cost elements. The presentation will be followed in the afternoon by a practical workshop in teams, while using IT service management tools in order to identify the cost of 3 services and to observe the effects on the cost after certain decisions and actions are made together (Some service management tool suppliers will be assisting us during the afternoon workshop).
