itSMF Slovakia & Links with University of Košice

The itSMF Slovakia (www.itsmf.sk) started the communication with the Technical university of Košice, Slovakia, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics concerning the preparation of new course of study.

The first meeting was organized on December, 2008 where the members of itSMF Slovakia have been presented the mutual interest to build the close cooperation. During this session, there were presented ITIL best practices, the status of ITIL knowledge in the IT environment (business and operation) as well as the short vision of the next future.

At the present time the cooperation is starting to have the clear frame and the actual activities are presented as followed:
It is created the virtual team from the members of itSMF Slovakia and Faculty of Cybernetics and Artificial Intelligence - Knowledge Technologies Group.

Today's cooperation includes the several activities:

• Leading of diploma and bachelor works (ITIL and ISO standards)
• Preparation of the studies´ lectures: The Enterprise informatics (consists of last version of the ITIL best practices)
• Leading lectures (30% is covered by itSMF Slovakia members)
• Participation on the workshops
• Preparing of practises for students (this activity is sponsored and supported by HP Slovakia by SW licenses)

For the future it is planned to extend the actual activities in order to bring closer ITIL best practices to the university environment.
