itSMF Serbia holds its launch Conference

On December 10th 2008, future leaders of IT Service Management of Serbia got together at Hyatt Regency Hotel in Belgrade to launch the itSMF Serbia chapter - the 51st of 53 itSMF chapters worldwide.

The event attracted more than 130 guests representing local and international IT and Telecommunications companies, Universities and Government representatives interested in hearing about the latest topics in IT Service Management, ITIL and its best practices.

After a warm welcome address by Milan Zivkovic, the itSMF Serbia chapter President, and Keith Aldis, Persident and CEO of itSMF UK, the Deputy Minister of Information Technology, Nebojsa Vasiljevic declared the conference officially opened.

Experts in their respective fields presented sixteen very interesting presentations grouped in four panels: itSMF Organizational Insights, ITIL Best Practices, ITSM Service Lifecycle Environment and Key Factors for Business Success.  In addition to hearing how some local IT groups are applying IT Service Management concepts into their business practices, guest speakers from Denmark, England, Germany and United States were there to give insights into IT Service Management practice abroad.

David Cannon, President of itSMF USA gave an interesting presentation on itSMF as an organization followed by Barry Goodwin, Oracle's Vice President of Global Customer Management who spoke about Global Customer Success Index and Declan Galvin, Siemens Service Excellence Manager who discussed Exploiting ITIL Processes for Achieving Service Excellence.

Besides learning about IT Service Management, itSMF Serbia launch was a great networking opportunity where over cocktails new ideas were exchanged, contacts and friendships made. Thanks to all that participated and made the itSMF Serbia launch a huge success. We look forward to seeing you and welcoming you back again next year.
