itSMF International Translations Update

We would like to inform the itSMF Chapters of an important change to the translation process that affects many of you.

For the last two years Mark Lillycrop has managed the translation project for itSMF International, and has been your single point of contact (SPOC) for all publications business. It wasn't an easy job and was complicated by restrictions in the contracts that were in place at the time. We would like to thank Mark for his excellent work on the project.

In April itSMF International appointed Kirstie Magowan as Chief Editor to steer and direct our own publications activities. We realized that there was a very large area of overlap between the partners, chapters and individuals involved in new publications and in translations. We have therefore decided to make Kirstie the SPOC for all the publications-related activities that fall under the control of itSMF International, including ITIL V3 translations. So please welcome Kirstie as your new SPOC for all publications business. She reports to the itSMF International publications director.

Mark will be concentrating on the UK's publications initiatives and sales in the future. He will retain responsibility for ITIL V2 translation contracts between itSMF UK and other chapters, and for maintaining the UK's inter-chapter relationships with respect to re-selling and developing new publications.

Kirstie and Mark have been working together in recent weeks to ensure that - after a transitional period - we will be able to serve chapters as well as we have in the past, if not better! We will also be better positioned to explore new opportunities and expand into new publishing activities. As always we are completely open to your ideas, so please let us have all your views and proposals. We look forward to an exciting future for itSMF publishing.
