ITIL 2011 Edition road show - itSMF.ie hosts event for updated edition

The it Service Management Forum Ireland (itSMF.ie) recently hosted the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) 2011 Edition road show for both members and non-members of the chapter.

The ITIL 2011 edition is the first significant update to the Lifecycle Suite since 2007, published in July of this year. For service managers who rely heavily on ITIL guidance in their day-to-day work, and for those involved in ITIL education and consultancy, it is essential to understand what has changed and why, and what the revisions mean for the ITIL community.

The ITIL 2011 Edition road show brings together authors and mentors from the recent ITIL Update project to explain what the ITIL 2011 Edition means for service management practitioners, managers and advisors. Speaking at the event were Colin Rudd and Stuart Rance, key contributors in the new edition.

While the underlying ITIL guidance and principles remain unaltered, various processes and concepts have been introduced or revised to help clarify and strengthen the ITIL message and reinforce its unique position within IT service management.
