I am currently employed as the IT Service delivery Manager for Wesbank South Africa. This is a senior management position reporting to the Infrastructure Manager WesBank. I have 9 staff of which 5 are managers reporting to me. WesBank is part of the First Rand Group. WesBank is the market leader in Southern Africa in the field of Vehicle and Asset finance. Wesbank provides Vehicle and asset finance on dealer showrooms, Fleet Finance and Fleet Management services, Finance for expensive capital equipment for business, Import finance and we offer a full range of insurance and value added products. Wesbank for the last financial year 2006 to 2007 averaged R4.5 Billion ($560 million US) per month of new business generated in the finance market. As such my responsibility in WesBank revolves around ensuring that Wesbank IT services delivers constant, reliable and above all stunning service, to the many different operations in our business. WesBank has 3900 plus employees at present. WesBank uses a mixed environment of UNIX, Oracle, Hogan and Microsoft applications. There are a number of applications that have been developed in house using these. Wesbank also has one of the largest call centers in Southern Africa, using CIC, VOIP technology. The environment is demanding and very diverse.
