There are 50 officially approved itSMF Chapters around the world with each Chapter offering its Services (membership, events, publications) to its members.
- Approved Chapters - Those Chapters which have completed the application process and been officially approved by the itSMF International Executive Board.
- Emerging Chapters - Countries that are looking to form a new Chapter, and have formally registered their intent.

Approved Chapters
The IT Service Management Forum (itSMF) is a global, independent, internationally recognized not-for-profit organisation dedicated to IT Service Management. itSMF is wholly owned and principally run by its membership. It consists of a growing number of national chapters (comprising over 100,000 members worldwide) each with a large degree of autonomy but adhering to a common code of conduct.
The itSMF is a major influence on, and contributor to, industry best practices and Standards worldwide, working in partnership with a wide range of governmental and standards bodies worldwide. itSMF International is the controlling body of the itSMF national chapters and sets policies and provides direction for furthering the overall objectives of itSMF, for the adoption of IT Service Management (ITSM) best practice and for ensuring adherence to itSMF policies and standards.
A Board, elected from official representatives of national Chapters, is responsible for establishing policies, providing direction and ensuring governance. The Board is supported by a CEO who is primarily responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of itSMF International. All Board and committee members contribute on a voluntary basis.
As businesses depend more and more on technology to promote and deliver their products to market, the benefits of adopting Best Practice IT Service Management and of becoming part of the IT Service Management Forum become more apparent. itSMF provides an accessible network of industry experts, information sources and events to help organisations address IT service management issues and to assist IT professionals in achieving the delivery of high quality, consistent IT services both internally and externally through the adoption of Best Practice.

If you and or your company are resident in any of these countries, you can email us at emerging@itsmfi.org to indicate your willingness to either support and or your availability to contribute in the formation and running of the proposed chapter.
