The Executive Board

The new itSMF International Executive Board for the period of 2010-11 was elected by the Chapters in late 2009.

The Board members are listed below, with the new Portfolios agreed by the end of January 2010.

The individual Biographies are shown on the pages listed below.

David Cannon - Chairman

David Cannon (Chairman)

David Cannon is the worldwide manager of Integration and Technical Services and a practice principal for ITSM within Hewlett-Packard.

He is also a key contributor to developing industry standards through his work as IT Service Management Forum (itSMF) founder and leader, and through his authorship of the Service Operation book in ITIL v3.

David is a Fellow of the Institute of Service Management.

 

 

 

 

Alexander Kist - Vice Chairman

Alexander Kist (Vice Chairman)

Alexander has been actively involved with the itSMF, almost from the beginning. He became a member of the ITIMF Management Board in 1992, representing the international (largely Dutch) membership. Together with Roelof Doustra of Quint, he was co-founder of the Dutch chapter in 1993. He served as Treasurer on the UK Board from 1997 until he moved to Canada in 2000. He was initiator and co-founder of the Canadian chapter and Board member until he returned to the Netherlands in mid 2001.

Alexander has devoted his professional career to ITSM and ITIL. He holds a masters degree in “Computer and Information Resources Management” and is the proud owner of Service Manager Certificate nr. 62, dated June 1992. In December 2007 he passed the V3 Manger Bridge Exam.

He has worked as an IT (Service) Management consultant and trainer for a multitude of customers, in a number of countries since 1990. He is also a marker for EXIN and a frequent speaker on ITSM and BITA at conferences and seminars.

Robert Stroud - Treasurer

Robert Stroud (Treasurer)

Robert Stroud holds the positions of Vice President and is the IT Service Management and Governance Evangelist at CA, Inc,   is a International vice president of ISACA and the IT Governance Institute (ITGI), Board Member of the itSMF USA and the chair of ITGI’s COBIT Steering Committee and is part of the itSMF USA Board of Directors and the itSMF International Executive Board.

As CA’s global evangelist for service management and governance, he is dedicated to the development and communication of industry best practices and acts as a strong advocate for the customer – working closely with users, industry organizations, government agencies, and IT luminaries to identify and communicate IT best practices, as well as to help ensure that the CA’s solutions adhere to industry best practices.

A 26-year IT veteran, Robert has significant practical industry experience and is a recognized industry speaker and leader. In addition to his involvement at ISACA, and ITGI, Stroud serves on the USA itSMF Board of Directors. He has contributed to several major titles on ITIL and COBIT and was a member of the ITIL refresh process in the roles of mentor, reviewer and on the Advisory Group.

Robert spent over 15 years in the Banking industry successfully managing multiple initiatives in both the IT and retail banking sectors related to ITSM and process governance. He is also a mentor to many organizations, advising them on their implementations to ensure they drive maximum business value throughout the process.

Robert joined CA from the Australian Computer Security Company, Cybec where he held several management positions and was responsible for the company's successful global expansion, culminating in its successful entry into the North American market.

Peter Brooks - Business Development & Marketing

Peter Brooks (Business Development & Marketing)

Peter Brooks worked for Hewlett-Packard for twenty years in various capacities, mainly in the UK, but also in South Africa and New Zealand. He is now an independent consultant in Service Management as well as a certified ITIL trainer. He is a Fellow of the Institute of IT Service Management (FISM) and author of the itSMF Library book 'Metrics for IT Service Management'.

Peter is married and lives in Cape Town.

Alejandro Debenedet - Chapter Governanace

Alejandro Debenedet - IEBAlejandro Debenedet has been devoted to IT for more than 25 years. He holds ITIL and ISO 20000 certificates and has participated in ITIL books reviews. Alejandro has actively engaged in ITSM as trainer, consultant, certification, sales and marketing. He is a seasoned ITSM speaker and writer. Alejandro is founding member of itSMF Argentina where he collaborated as President, Vice President and International Representative since 2003.  Currently works for EXIN as International Relations Director, lives in The Netherlands, is married and has 2 children.

 

Marianna Billington - Publishing & Translations

Marianna Billington is the Services Manager at Fairfax Media in New Zealand, Fairfax is an Australasian company who delivers quality publications to the New Zealand and Australian market. In her current role Marianna faces the daily challenge of implementing a best practice framework.

Marianna has also been actively involved as part of the itSMFnz team at branch level as well as serving on the executive team for the past 3 years in the capacity of Treasurer and Vice Chair. Marianna has also been part of the IPESC group and has been the communications officer since December 2008.

Marianna joins the team at ITSMFI as the Publications Director and is looking forward to bringing together all her knowledge, exposure and relationships in the publications community to deliver an exciting way forward in Publications as she works closely with Kirstie the Chief Editor on a 2010/11
Strategy.

Michael Kum - Qualifications Certifications and Standards

Michael Kum (Qualifications, Certifications and Standards)

Michael Kum is an ITIL v3 certified trainer, project manager and business turn-around coach. He has 12 years working experience in various capacities from Product engineer, Project Manager, Trainer and I.P.rights executive. He does lean six sigma, Kaizen, Cobit, PM, ITSM, ISO20000 and business improvement methodologies by addressing and bridging both business elements and ICT areas. He works as a consultant for MKC Solutions, speaks Japanese, Chinese, English and Malay.

He co-founded itSMF Malaysia / IT Service Management Society of Malaysia in 2006. His vision is for the itSMFI movement to bridge East and West, to cater to the growing interest of Service Management facing a changing k-economy, and encourage substantial growth in the new globalised markets (Asia and beyond).

itSMFI Officers - Kirstie Magowan - Chief Editor

Kirstie Magowan is the new Chief Editor for itSMFI.

Graduating from Wellington Polytechnic School of Journalism in 1982, Kirstie briefly worked as a NZ radio reporter before becoming a journalist and photographer for a country newspaper.

After a brief stint in Papua New Guinea as assistant to the Director of the Medical Research Institute, Kirstie returned to New Zealand and back to print journalism.

After pursuing similar roles, she went on to set up a CRM company, which managed customer communications for smaller businesses, and began her venture into IT Service Management.

Since 2004 she has been working as an independent consultant, helping various Australian and New Zealand companies on their ITSM initiatives.

She is an active member of IPESC since 2007, being elected endorsement officer in December of 2007. Kirstie is also publications officer on the New Zealand Chapter board.

She is married with four children.

Employees may choose to be affiliated with the itSMF Chapter of their choice.
